Casey Decker, aka The Meticulous Type, has been writing and editing throughout her careers as an editor and former attorney. She is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Editing Certificate Program and was a teaching assistant for the school’s copyediting class. Casey is a member of the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Association for Women in Communications, and Book Publishers Northwest.
As a freelance editor, Casey enjoys working on a wide variety of projects, fiction and nonfiction, for nonprofit and for-profit organizations and individuals. These projects have included books, short stories, memoirs, magazines, newsletters, marketing materials, academic textbooks, websites, blogs, legal documents, press releases, grant/fellowship applications, and resumes. Casey is proficient in The Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press Stylebook, and The Bluebook.
She strives to help clients draw on their strengths and come away energized about their projects.
